Through strategic initiatives, collaboration, and innovative solutions, we are empowering individuals and organizations to create meaningful change.
Current Projects
NARR State Affiliate
As a NARR state affiliate, we uphold national standards for recovery residences, provide training and technical assistance, and advocate for quality, accessibility, and integrity in recovery housing across our state. This effort is partially funded by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMSHAS).
Recovery Matters
In collaboration with ODMHSAS, Oxford House, and the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, OKARR is providing pre-release connections to certified recovery housing in rural communities for this Department of Justice funded project.
LeFlore County Opioid Project
Braided funding from the Oklahoma Abatement Board and opioid litigation funds is driving progress in LeFlore County. Initiatives include an advisory council, a recovery housing registry, expanded evidence-based housing, school prevention education, training programs, and data collection to measure the impact on addiction recovery.
Diverting to Success
Diverting to Success in Comanche County prioritizes rehabilitation over punishment by partnering with the justice system and recovery providers. It offers therapeutic supervision, innovative support, and Recovery Capital Index data to enhance diversion strategies, reduce recidivism, and improve public safety.
Comanche County Opioid Project (CCOP)
CCOP, funded by the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board, combats the opioid crisis through prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts. A task force leads initiatives like recovery training, housing assistance, a resource registry, and NARR Level 2 housing, enhancing support for individuals with addiction and justice involvement.
Reclaiming Lives: A Recovery-Focused Future for Haskell County Residents
Reclaiming Lives is establishing recovery housing in Haskell County, providing stability and addiction services for seamless reintegration. The project connects individuals in jail to care through discharge planning and uses braided funding to expand treatment, enhance diversion programs, and build sustainable recovery support.

Greer County Recovery Initiative (GCRI)
Greer County's opioid abatement project includes a task force and enhanced NARR Level 3 recovery residences with Amethyst House Recovery. These residences provide employment, education, and transportation support, helping individuals transition from treatment to the community while reducing relapse risk.
Harmon Strong: Pathways to Recovery and Employment
Harmon Strong combats opioid misuse by establishing a countywide task force, promoting a Recovery-Friendly Workplace Initiative to help individuals reenter the workforce, and providing transportation to treatment, drug court, and jobs through Oklahoma Ride Care.
Kiowa SAFE
Kiowa SAFE tackles opioid addiction in Kiowa County by providing transportation to treatment, drug court, and jobs; prevention education in Lone Wolf Public Schools; housing assistance for those affected by opioids; and initiatives to enhance community collaboration and education.

Tillman County Opioid Crisis Task Force
This initiative aims to reduce overdose deaths by improving access to drug court and opioid treatment through transportation and housing assistance. It also expands emergency response with Narcan, enhances community awareness, and strengthens stakeholder collaboration.
The Hope Rural Engagement and Empowerment (THREE) Project
THREE is establishing a district-wide criminal justice diversion hub for five counties to coordinate diversion efforts across all stages of the justice process. It will provide holistic support, including mental health, substance abuse treatment, employment, education, and housing. The initiative partners with Hopeful Grounds, a peer-led recovery center offering mentoring and support services. THREE aims to reduce recidivism, enhance public safety, and promote rehabilitation over incarceration by connecting individuals with tailored interventions.

Stephens County Recovery Community Center (RCO)
The Stephens County Recovery Community Center (RCO), funded by opioid abatement resources, provides a safe space for individuals recovering from substance use disorders. In partnership with OCARTA, it offers peer support, education, and community engagement, fostering a recovery-focused environment.
Jefferson County Opioid Action Taskforce (JCOAT)
Jefferson County Opioid Action Task Force (JCOAT) will launch to address the growing
impact of opioid use, abuse, and addiction within the community. This project will focus on
creating a multi-disciplinary task force and offering rent and utility assistance to support
individuals affected by opioid use disorder (OUD). The initiative aims to improve community
resilience, reduce the risk of relapse, and create a sustainable framework for long-term recovery
and prevention.

Hope and Healing supports opioid recovery in Grady County through coordination of prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts. Key initiatives include housing assistance, school and community education, a recovery specialist with the sheriff’s office, and a NARR Level 2 recovery residence by OCARTA.
Caddo County Comprehensive Opioid Recovery Program (CORP)
CORP supports recovery by addressing social determinants of health through evidence-based practices. Initiatives include a recovery specialist at Caddo County Jail, transportation to treatment, rent and utility assistance, a NARR Level 1 recovery residence, low-cost dental care, and enhanced community collaboration.
Discovering Workforce Strategies for the Recovery Community of Appalachia
The Discovering Workforce Strategies for the Recovery Community of Appalachia study examines how recovery housing supports individuals with SUD/OUD in workforce reintegration. Based on surveys from 362 residences, findings show that stable housing, like NARR and Oxford Houses, boosts job retention, emphasizing the need for continued investment.
