Hand Up Ministries
Hand Up Ministries is a faith based aftercare program for men recovering from substance use that have been released from prison. Hand Up accepts men who want to change their life – prison is not a pre-requisite. Hand Up Ministries was founded in July of 1996. Today in 2021, the living capacity for men in recovery is 200 at this property.
In March of 2021, Hand Up Ministries was certified as a Level II recovery residence, meeting the nationally recognized standards defined by the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR).
With 24/7 recovery support for substance use on the property, HUM provides housing with utilities, transportation, meals, clothing, hygiene products and, most importantly, a structured environment to help with re-adjusting to society and transforming into a person in recovery from substance use. HUM helps residents find permanent employment. Hand Up recorded a 98% employment rate for their residents in 2019.
